Making the best of things
Today I am quite miffed with the postal services. It seems that everything that involves ordering online and delivering packages is going awry more and more.
Back at the beginning of the year I went through a 3 months struggle to get a set of soft silicone tipped sculptng tools. At about the beginning of January (first week anyway) I bought a set o n Ebay. Shipped to me the same day, tracking number, everything. It was supposed to be UPS. And reach me in about a week. So I keep tracking the journey, in 3 days it had gotten to Oklahoma City and dumped as usual in USPS's lap by UPS (nothing new here). And it showed "In transit" in Oklahoma City. Oh yay! I guess I get my kit faster than I thought!
Not so fast. It showed "in transit" in Oklahoma City for 10 days. After which both me and the seller called it quits (after several complaints filed online by both of us to USPS), he refunded me, and I went ahead and bought a new set from someone else on Ebay.
This one was shipped the same day Fedex Smartpost. And I started tracking it. It got to Hutchins, TX in 3 days. And there it stayed. Yep. This one got lost too. Same filing complaints, same thing, got my money back. By now it was March. And a friend - knowing my frustrations and plight - had actually ordered the same kit from Amazon and gifted it to me for my birthday.
Now on the 21st of April I ordered the famous "PolyFast" from Belgium. And waited. And waited. Unfortunately the people had shipped it with regular post and couldn't provide me tracking number or custom slip or anything. After close to a month of waiting, day before yesterday they told me they're shipping a second one. Hopefully it will get to me.
It's not on all items - I bought on the 7th of April some stuff on Ebay from China and it was here on the 15th of April. Regular mail. But it wasn't important. I guess only what's important and I can't wait to get that gets lost.
Anyway, this is how the micro-mosaic necklaces came up. I need to get to Hobby Lobby to get more antiqued silver chain to finish them though as I just realized I'm completely out.
Which of them you like more, the no 1 or the no 2?
